Murnau is known for its marshlands. On an area of around 4,200 hectares, mosses, lichens, meadows and forests form an impressive mosaic, which is unique in its composition for Europe. But the surrounding lakes such as the Staffel or Kochelsee are worth a visit. Whether by boat to the smallest island in Bavaria or once by bike around the lake - you should have a small picnic in any case! If you would like to see the moss from above, you should try the Heimgarten or Kirnberg round or go on the mediation route around Murnau.
