Art in the "Blauen Land"
Murnau became world famous through the Russian painter "Wassily Kandinsky", who lived together with "Gabriele Münter" in today's "Münter Haus" from 1909 to 1914. The famous museum was also the founding site of the expressionist artists' association "Blauer Reiter," as "Gabriele Münter", "Wassily Kandinsky" and "Franz Marc" called themselves after they settled in Murnau and Kochel. Inspired by the diverse landscape, numerous works of art that became famous were created here. Ödön von Horváth and "Emanuel von Seidl2" were also not unimpressed by the unique area around Murnau. And so it is today. Throughout the hotel grounds, whether in the garden, the lobby or on the way to your room, here we have created places for artists of the region.
