New Chef de Cuisine at Alpenhof Murnau

High-level, genuinely authentic Bavarian cuisine with that special something in the preparation. This is the style of our new Executive Chef Claus Gromotka (35), who has been with us since February.

Changes are certainly being made to our culinary concept, so that we can shine anew, even without a Michelin star over our restaurants (for now). We have a very strong connection with Bavaria and the regional specialities, which will also be splendidly reflected in our menus as well as in the furnishing and arrangement of our restaurants.

Of course, we would like to tell you a little bit about Claus Gromotka's "history", despite his relative youth: he grew up in Nußdorf in the Chiemgau and also always speaks of his "Heimat", his homeland, when talking about our region, the Werdenfelser Land. For the past eight years he has always worked as an executive chef. After his training at the Seehotel Wassermann by Chiemsee, he wanted "to see something different", broaden his horizons and evolve. He spent two years in Bremen. Other stops have included the scene restaurant Grill Royal, popular with Hollywood stars, and the restaurant P12 in Berlin. From 2005 to 2007 he worked as Executive Chef at the Intercontinental Berchtesgaden Resort - at the time during which Ulrich Heimann brought a star to the luxury hotel with Le Ciel. He completed exclusive events for Käfer abroad. During the past four years, Claus Gromotka has acted as a Brasserie Chef at the Literaturhaus in Munich.
